Uber has announced a new series of updates to its ride-hailing and food delivery app on both iPhone and Android, with a focus on improving the user experience. The updates include a new home screen, support for iOS 16 Live Activities, and Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro models.
The redesigned home screen features a simplified layout, enabling users to book rides and order Uber Eats deliveries with fewer taps. It also includes a Services tab, where users can find all available riders and delivery options in their city, and an Activity Hub, where they can track past and new rides and Eats orders.
With support for iOS 16 Live Activities and Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro models, users can easily track the progress of their rides on an iPhone Lock Screen or Dynamic Island, with vehicle details, ETA information, and trip status. The update also includes more personalized ride-hailing options for destinations and ride types based on users’ past trips and preferences.
In addition to these new features, the Uber driver app now supports CarPlay in the United States, allowing Uber drivers to use their iPhones and stay connected safely on the road.
Overall, the new updates are aimed at making the Uber experience more streamlined and personalized for users, while also offering new tools to help them keep track of their rides and deliveries.
The updated Uber app is available for download on the App Store & Google Play. It’s compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with iOS 14.8 or later.
