Elon Musk reported on Twitter that now the e-truck accomplished a 500-mile, which is equivalent to an 805 km voyage although being packed with an overall weight of 81,000 lbs. This is happening as the world eagerly awaits the start of the Tesla Semi’s first deliveries anytime. Stakeholders are keeping a close eye on this particular development. The less expensive base model will only provide a 300-mile i.e. equivalent of a 483-kilometre range.
Also important to note is that Elon Musk’s claimed weight of 81,000 Ibs (equal to 36.7 tonnes) falls just shy of the declared target weight of up to 82,000 lbs (which is 37.2 tonnes) for the fully-loaded vehicle on the Tesla website. The world first learned about the Tesla Semi exactly five years ago. Deliveries of Class 8 completely electric semi trucks were initially scheduled to begin earlier, but problems forced a postponement. The Tesla CEO stated that EV production began in 2022.
Longer range
The Tesla Semi still has a longer advertised range than any competing truck from Volvo, Mercedes, Renault, and Nikola Trucks, offering it an advantage in long-distance travel despite the multiple delays. It will accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour, that is, 0 to 96 kilometres per hour, in five seconds when empty and twenty seconds when completely loaded, which is fairly swift for a vehicle of this size. It may be an interesting experience to understand more about energy and speed consumption despite the lack of reason to doubt the outcome.
The world at large would be very eager to see some objective vehicle testing. According to Tesla, the Semi utilizes, on average, less energy as compared to 2 kWh/mile. This can be translated to 1.24 kWh/km. At a 500-mile range, the capacity of the battery would be lower as compared to 1,000 kWh. These are some of the adjustments that stakeholders are really looking forward to. The Tesla Semi EV is currently manufactured by the company in Reno, Nevada, with ambitions to quickly grow capacity yearly.\

Upcoming deployment
Tesla would be among the top manufacturers of 8-Class trucks in North America with a daily average rate of production of over 100 vehicles. These figures will make them a force to reckon with in this industry. It looks a little fast for Elon Musk’s Tesla to finish the initial 500-mile journey considering that production models of the truck are slated to be deployed to customers soon. Tesla has, however, probably already made a number of shorter journeys that demonstrated the complete spectrum could cover a 500-mile journey on one charge.
Due to the capacity of the Semi, and the much lower cost of operation per mile as compared to diesel vehicles, the EV is expected to have a big impact on the transportation industry. The impact is already being felt if the anticipation of their launch is anything to go by. A number of companies have succeeded in releasing class 8 e-trucks (semi) before Tesla, including Freightliner, Volvo, and Nikola, however, these companies have only been able to reach the lower side of the target range.
Delivering the Cybertruck is now necessary, and hopefully, it will happen soon. The base price of the Tesla Semi is $150,000, while the longer-range model has a selling price of $180,000. It is a very ambitious objective for the semi-truck market for Tesla to produce up to 100,000 trucks annually.
