There may soon be a significant audio upgrade for the more than a million Tesla cars now on the road. The automaker intends to equip both existing and new Tesla vehicles with immersive surround sound using Dolby Atmos. The technology will come standard in new autos. Dolby Atmos will be added to existing vehicles via a software upgrade. Dolby Atmos produces an engaging auditory experience. It is the next generation of surround sound, and it can now be used in automobiles in addition to movie theatres.
The 128 audio channels used by the Dolby Atmos system enable it to disperse any kind of sound around the space. It accomplishes this by combining speakers with extras scattered throughout the area, such as ceiling reflectors, to provide the desired effect. Since its debut, it has appeared in blockbuster Hollywood movies. Tesla’s premium audio feature, which uses height speakers installed in the pillars to produce the ceiling sound needed by Dolby Atmos, will be necessary for the Atmos upgrade.
Premium sound
All Model X and Model S vehicles, as well as the Awd and Performance versions of the Model Y and Model 3, now come included with the Premium Audio option, which previously came at an additional cost.
