The AI DJ’s voice is modeled after the well-known host of Spotify’s morning show, The GetUp, Xavier ‘X’ Jernigan. However, Spotify has hinted that this is just the first model, implying that more AI hosts with unique styles will launch in the future.
As demonstrated in the promotional video, the AI DJ comments on the selection of songs it plays, such as referring to the music you “had on a lot back in 2018.” Moreover, it can also provide information on the artist and their latest releases with the help of Spotify’s human editors. In case users do not like the DJ’s music choice, they can quickly switch to another option by pressing the DJ icon at the bottom right of the screen.
