Modest steps, not massive ones, are how Amazon likes to advance its Echo smart speakers, sometimes but small steps are all that’s needed. Although the additional motion sensors allow you to engage with the device with a tap, the 5th Echo Dot doesn’t sound all that different from the previous model. Very similar sphere
The physical appearance of the 5th Echo Dot and the fourth-generation models are virtually identical. It is a 3.9 by 3.5 inch (HD) sphere that comes in white or light blue. The sphere is divided in half diagonally, the front and forward half being encased in matte plastic, as well as the bottom and rear half being covered in grille cloth.
