Acapulco was perhaps one of the hottest Apple TV+ shows of 2021, telling the story of twenty-something Máximo Gallardo (played by Enrique Arrizon), whose dream comes true when he gets the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at the hottest resort in Acapulco.
He soon realises the job is far more complicated than he ever imagined and in order to succeed, he must learn to navigate a demanding clientele, a mercurial mentor, and a complicated home life, without losing his way to shortcuts or temptations.
The first episode dropped on October 8, and it’s aired weekly ever since until the season finale on December 3.
But where is the series headed next?
The end of season one saw Maximo alone at Las Colinas – despite his efforts to win over Julia, it was Chad’s proposal that saw Julia stick around. But the season hinted that there was plenty more to come – and with older Maximo heading off to Don Pablo’s funeral, perhaps season two could pick up where season one left off?
Right now, Acapulco has not been renewed for a second season, but we’ll bring you the latest as soon as it is.
